Job Code: Maintenance Technician (FT) - CO/MD/NY/IL - ONLY

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Bunker Valley community located in Bohemia, NY. The role involves general grounds and lawn maintenance, as well as basic repairs to homes owned by the community, for 40 hours per week.

As a Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities include:

  1. Performing maintenance to ensure homes and community areas are in proper condition.
  2. Executing work orders and reporting status to the Community Manager efficiently.
  3. Handling all contacts with residents, prospective residents, visitors, and employees courteously and cooperatively.
  4. Identifying deficiencies and taking immediate action with approval from the community manager.
  5. Maintaining community grounds through manicuring, weed treatment, leaf raking, planting, mulching, trimming, and tree limb removal.
  6. Removing and disposing of garbage from community grounds and residents’ sites.
  7. Performing snow removal using appropriate equipment.
  8. Advising the Community Manager or Maintenance Supervisor of waste disposal issues or large item pickups.
  9. Conducting inventories of maintenance and grounds equipment and supplies.
  10. Maintaining the order and appearance of garages and storage areas.
  11. Keeping maintenance and grounds equipment clean and in good condition.
  12. Complying with health and safety laws to ensure safety for all.
  13. Performing seasonal pre-maintenance services on schedule.
  14. Remaining available for “on call” duties as needed.
  15. Participating in refurbishing community-owned homes.
  16. Performing repairs and maintenance on water and sewer lines.

Minimum qualifications include:

  1. At least 2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
  2. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  3. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and insurability.
  4. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, HVAC, and carpentry.
  5. Own tools may be required.
  6. Ability to bend, stretch, walk, and access restricted spaces.
  7. Ability to operate maintenance equipment.
  8. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  10. Tolerance to exposure to various chemicals.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range is $20.00 - $23.00, based on skills, experience, and education.
