Job summary

Dawn Homes Management, LLC in Albany, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance repairs, apartment make-ready tasks, and preventive maintenance across our community. The role demands hands-on work in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and related trades.

Responsibilities include make-ready of vacant units, handling work requests promptly, and communicating progress to supervisors. You will inspect property conditions, assist with snow removal, and deliver strong

Qualifications

• Plumbing: sweat copper, install valves, rebuild stems, replumb sinks, clear drains.
• Electrical: use multimeters, replace breakers, wire 3 way switches.
• HVAC: diagnose and repair Split Systems, Heat Pumps, and boilers.
• Carpentry: hang cabinets, hang sheetrock, finish & patch.
• Ability to train peers, required.
• Ability to work safely in challenging places: ladders, elevated surfaces, confined spaces.
• High level of customer service, required.
• Attention to detail and time management under tight timelines.
• Initiative to identify and solve problems within established processes.
• Effective communication with managers, coworkers, vendors and residents.

Responsibilities

• Vacant Unit Make-Ready Execution: perform painting, minor plumbing, electrical, appliance and carpentry repairs.
• Manage the process of completing work requests in a timely and effective manner.
• Communicate status of work projects to supervisor and office management.
• Regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and vacant units to identify deficiencies and communicate issues.
• Perform snow removal and salting as needed.
• Provide customer service and support residents to meet expectations.
• Other duties as assigned.
