Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional and detail-oriented Property Maintenance Specialist II in Pullman, WA for a swing shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm). This is a Monday–Friday schedule in a growing, employee-owned company.

Key duties include daily custodial tasks, routine floor care, basic repairs, and safe operation of maintenance equipment, with emphasis on safety and efficiency in a team setting.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in maintaining and cleaning commercial facilities.
• Ability to perform basic repairs including carpentry, painting, and equipment installation.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to reach, bend, grip, twist, stand for at least 8 hours, and lift and maneuver 40 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial maintenance duties of basic complexity (sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, trash removal).
• Assist with routine floor care (stripping, sealing/waxing hard floors, carpet spotting, extraction).
• Ensure proper care in use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; perform routine maintenance as requested.
• Follow and improve safety, environmental practices, processes, and waste reduction.

As a Property Maintenance Specialist II, a typical day might include the following: With guidance, perform daily custodial maintenance duties of basic complexity including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, trash removal, and appropriate response to requests as needed. Assist with routine floor care including stripping, sealing/waxing hard floors, carpet spotting, and extraction. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; perform routine maintenance as requested. Follow and continuously improve workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.

Pay Range Data: $25.00 - $37.00 an hour. We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Property Maintenance Specialist II level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
