Job summary

Mutual of Enumclaw is seeking an experienced Property General Claims Adjuster to handle the most complex farm and commercial claims. You will guide claims from first notice to resolution, mentor others, and work primarily in the field within WA/OR/ID/MT/WY/UT/AZ.

Expect on-site inspections and collaboration with contractors and insurers. The role requires 5+ years in large commercial property/casualty claims, a P&C license, and strong expertise in Xactimate and total-loss scenarios.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Property General Claims Adjuster to take on our most complex farm and commercial claims — from major rebuilds to total losses. You'll be the person policyholders count on when things get complicated, guiding claims from first notice all the way to resolution while mentoring others along the way.

Location: The successful candidate will work in the field but must be located in one of the following states: WA, OR, ID, MT, WY, UT, or AZ; must be able to work during our core Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours; and must have high-speed internet (internet speed test required).

What You’ll Do -

• Independently investigate, evaluate, and resolve large, complex commercial property, casualty, and farm/ranch claims, including total losses
• Get hands-on with on-site inspections of structures, farm buildings, equipment, livestock, and crops
• Prepare detailed Xactimate estimates and apply sound depreciation, overhead & profit standards
• Interpret complex policy language and explain coverage decisions clearly to policyholders and agents
• Manage total-loss and major-rebuild files like real projects; tracking payments, rebuild progress, and next steps
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, attorneys, and vendors to keep files moving toward resolution
• Deploy to CAT events (hail, wind, wildfire) as needed, sometimes on short notice
• Serve as a go-to technical resource and mentor for other adjusters

What You’ll Bring -

• 5+ years handling large commercial property/casualty claims as a General or senior adjuster; farm/agribusiness experience is a big plus
• Active P&C adjuster license(s), or ability to get licensed as needed
• Solid experience with total-loss and major-rebuild claims, scope estimating, and reserve management
• Proficiency with Xactimate or similar estimating software
• Strong grasp of commercial property, liability, and farm/ranch coverage forms
• Comfort inspecting rooftops and rural/farm properties, including uneven terrain
• Clear, confident communication skills, especially when explaining tough coverage decisions

Education & Experience -

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience
• 7-10+ years of property field claims adjusting and litigation experience
• Advanced estimating skills across commercial trades (roofing, framing, electrical, HVAC, plumbing) and farm-specific structures
• Familiarity with HOVER, EagleView, and ITEL is a plus
• AIC, AINS, CPCU, SCLA/SCGA, or Xactimate certifications are a nice bonus

Hiring Range: $104,910 - $114,477*

Salary Range: $104,910 - $130,111
