Job summary

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of moderate to complex residential property claims from FNOL through settlement and closure.
• Investigate losses by gathering information from policyholders, contractors, vendors, and third parties.
• Analyze policy coverage, determine liability, and make sound coverage decisions.
• Prepare and review estimates utilizing Xactimate and other virtual estimating platforms.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits while ensuring compliance with state insurance regulations and company guidelines.
• Coordinate with restoration vendors, contractors, and internal business partners throughout the claims process.
• Identify fraud indicators and prepare referrals to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) when appropriate.
• Maintain detailed and accurate electronic claim documentation.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior adjusters as needed.
• Support catastrophe events, including potential travel and extended work hours.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Property Claims Adjusters to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve moderately to highly complex residential property insurance claims. This role manages claims from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) through settlement and closure while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of moderate to complex residential property claims from FNOL through settlement and closure.
• Investigate losses by gathering information from policyholders, contractors, vendors, and third parties.
• Analyze policy coverage, determine liability, and make sound coverage decisions.
• Prepare and review estimates utilizing Xactimate and other virtual estimating platforms.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits while ensuring compliance with state insurance regulations and company guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of residential property claims adjusting experience.
• Experience handling claims from investigation through settlement.
• Working knowledge of residential construction methods.
• Experience using Xactimate or similar estimating software.
• Strong investigative, negotiation, documentation, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of insurance policy interpretation and claims regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel and support CAT events.
• Active Property Adjuster License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling:
• Complex Property Claims
• Virtual Inspections using Hosta, Hover, ClaimsX, or similar technologies
• Full ownership of claims from FNOL through closure.
• Xactimate Level I or II Certification.
• Industry designations such as:
• CPCU
• AIC
• AINS
• SCLA
• Previous insurance carrier or call center claims experience.
• Military experience or military spouse affiliation highly valued.

Training Program

Formal paid training is approximately 12 weeks:

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Training on:

• Virtual inspection tools
• State insurance regulations
• Customer communication and negotiation
• Claims documentation and file management
• Live claim handling with coaching

After training:

• 8-hour shifts
• Monday–Friday
• Between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM local time
• Occasional evenings, weekends, overtime, and CAT support as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to inspect attics, crawl spaces, and confined spaces.
• Ability to climb ladders and inspect roofs.
• Lift up to 35 pounds.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
