Job summary

The City of Goodyear is seeking a Property and Evidence Officer to perform clerical and technical tasks related to the receipt, storage and disposal of property and evidence in the Police Department.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of property and evidence management experience in a law enforcement environment and a proven record of attention to detail, plus familiarity with Arizona statutes and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in property and evidence field.
• Knowledge of Arizona statutes and industry standards for storage of evidence.
• Valid Driver’s License; IA Property and Evidence certificate within 12 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives evidence items, checks inventories, and stores items to preserve chain of custody.
• Maintains evidence integrity and documents chain of custody; testifies in court as needed.
