Job summary

United Public Adjusters & Appraisers, Inc. is seeking a Property Damage & Construction Estimating Consultant to inspect damaged properties, assess repair needs, and prepare detailed construction estimates for insurance claim resolutions.

You will collaborate with adjusters, review multiple documents, and ensure accurate, defensible estimates. The role requires minimum three years in construction or property damage estimating, strong knowledge of building codes, and proficiency in Xactimate, with

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of construction estimating, property damage estimating, restoration estimating, or a closely related estimating discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods, materials, repairs, and building codes.
• Experience preparing detailed construction estimates using Xactimate or comparable software.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for inspections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties following covered losses.
• Evaluate damages to structures, roofs, interiors, exteriors, and building systems.
• Document damages with photos, measurements, sketches, and field reports.
• Identify repair requirements, mitigation needs, and building code considerations.
• Prepare detailed repair estimates and scopes of work using estimating software.
• Review contractor proposals, engineering reports, and carrier estimates for discrepancies.
• Identify omitted damages, scope deficiencies, and pricing discrepancies.
• Interpret plans, repair methods, codes, and standards for defensible estimates.
• Support claim valuation with technical analysis and documentation.
