A leading international law firm is seeking a Property Coverage Attorney to join its Insurance Coverage practice in Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Francisco. The role involves sophisticated property insurance matters, complex coverage analysis, and dispute resolution in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate should have a JD from a top-tier law school, active bar admission, 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage, and strong research, writing, and drafting skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3+ years of substantive experience in insurance coverage matters.
• Experience handling property insurance coverage issues, including policy analysis and claims evaluation.
• Strong background in legal research, writing, and drafting.
• Experience preparing coverage opinions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery materials.
• Ability to manage time-sensitive and highly confidential matters.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration with colleagues and clients.
• Prior litigation experience, including depositions, hearings, and mediations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and claim materials, draft coverage opinions, and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
• Prepare correspondence and communications for clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Review and analyze documents in connection with coverage disputes and litigation.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw.
• Draft and respond to written discovery, pleadings, and dispositive motions.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediations.
• Advocate for clients in dispute resolution proceedings and support case strategy through all phases of litigation.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated property insurance matters for high-profile clients, handling complex coverage analysis, litigation, and dispute resolution. Candidate Profile

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record

• 3+ years of substantive experience in insurance coverage matters (experienced litigators interested in insurance coverage considered)
• Experience handling property insurance coverage issues, including policy analysis and claims evaluation

• Experience preparing coverage opinions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery materials
• Ability to manage time-sensitive and highly confidential matters with professionalism and discretion

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive Salary:
  • Associate: $160,000 – $190,000
  • Senior Associate: $185,000 – $225,000
  • Senior Counsel: $220,000 – $260,000
    Compensation is commensurate with experience, skill set, and level of hire.
