Job summary

A respected law firm with an established Insurance Coverage practice is seeking a Property Coverage Attorney to join its growing team in a hybrid setting. You will handle sophisticated property insurance matters, including analysis, litigation, and dispute resolution, for high-profile clients in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include analyzing policies, drafting coverage opinions, and conducting comprehensive legal research.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing.
• 3+ years of substantive experience in insurance coverage matters (experienced litigators welcome).
• Experience handling property insurance coverage issues, including policy analysis and claims evaluation.
• Strong background in legal research, writing, and drafting, with analytical rigor.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and claim materials, draft coverage opinions and strategic recommendations.
• Prepare correspondence for clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Review documents related to coverage disputes and litigation.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw and similar platforms.
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, and dispositive motions.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediations.
• Advocate for clients in dispute resolution and support case strategy throughout litigation.

Overview

What you'll do

• Analyze insurance policies and claim materials, draft coverage opinions, and provide strategic recommendations to clients
• Prepare correspondence and communications for clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel
• Review and analyze documents in connection with coverage disputes and litigation
• Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such as Westlaw
• Draft and respond to written discovery, pleadings, and dispositive motions
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings and mediations
• Advocate for clients in dispute resolution proceedings and support case strategy through all phases of litigation

Required qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record

• 3+ years of substantive experience in insurance coverage matters (experienced litigators interested in insurance coverage considered)
• Experience handling property insurance coverage issues, including policy analysis and claims evaluation
• Strong background in legal research, writing, and drafting, with demonstrated analytical rigor
• Experience preparing coverage opinions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery materialsAbility to manage time-sensitive and highly confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients

• Prior litigation experience, including depositions, hearings, and mediations, preferred

Compensation and benefits

• Associate: $160,000 – $190,000
• Senior Associate: $185,000 – $225,000
• Senior Counsel: $220,000 – $260,000
• Compensation commensurate with experience, skill set, and level of hire
