Job summary

Franklin Group is a property management company focused on multifamily housing in the District Heights area. The Compliance Specialist role requires maintaining compliance, handling tenant files, income certifications, and eligibility determinations under LIHTC.

Expect collaboration with Community and Regional Managers and regular interactions with property teams. The position emphasizes strong organization, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years affordable housing compliance experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Must be able to prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks.
• Strong computer literacy skills are essential to this position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tenant files and computer records, renew contracts, interims, and recertifications.
• Determine eligibility for new admissions in compliance with financing programs.
• Process new applicants and monitor EIV binders for regulatory compliance.
• Review inspections/audits and assist with corrections and correspondence.
• Participate in reviews by outside entities and in supervision meetings.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and mail in a timely manner.
• Facilitate communication with clients and landlords as needed.

JOB TITLE: Property Compliance Specialist

REPORTS TO: Community Manager and Regional Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining compliance. Individuals in this position should possess strong organization skills and a detail oriented approach.

PRIMARY DUTIES include the following but are not limited to:

• Maintain proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy according. This includes renewing of contracts, interims and re-certification/review of income and household composition.
• Determination of eligibility for all new admissions in compliance with all financing programs.
• Processing of all new applicants.
• Monitoring of EIV master binders for compliance with federal regulations and requirements.
• Review all inspections/audits and assist with corrections and correspondence.
• Participates with Compliance Manager in all reviews by outside entities.
• Attendance at supervision meetings and departmental meetings as scheduled.
• Participate in all required company training requirements.
• Respond to inquiries, phone calls, correspondence, and email in a timely and responsive manner.
• Facilitate and mediate communication with assigned clients and landlords as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years affordable housing compliance experience.
• Must be able to prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks.
• Ability to work well under stressful conditions.
• Must be prompt and dependable.
• Strong computer literacy skills are essential to this position.
• Affordable Housing Certifications a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
