Job summary

City of Wichita Falls, Texas is seeking a Property Inspector to implement minor and emergency repair programs and provide technical guidance to applicants, realtors, contractors and staff.

The role involves inspecting properties, preparing cost estimates, developing work write-ups, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations and building codes. Licensing and experience in inspections are required; office and residential site visits are included.

Qualifications

• Formal education beyond high school with vocational/technical training.
• Experience in coordinating repair programs and inspections is preferred.
• Ability to prepare inspection reports and cost estimates with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for emergency and minor repairs through detailed property inspections.
• Meet with homeowners, realtors and contractors to explain program guidelines and requirements.
• Assist applicants in completing applications and coordinate inspections with realtors for access and scheduling.
• Perform administrative tasks and maintain records of program activity and compliance.
• Recruit and maintain contractor lists, assess qualifications, monitor progress and ensure building code compliance.
