Position Summary:The Property Claims Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and reconciling accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely payment processing, and supporting customer account inquiries. This role involves handling all accounts receivable functions, such as cash applications, contacting customers with outstanding balances, using knowledge of insurance estimates to resolve balance disputes, managing billing inquiries, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve account discrepancies. This role will also handle escalated issues needing urgent and expert solution management.
General Responsibilities:- Accurately process daily cash applications
- Financial data entry related to insurance estimates
- Follow up on aged balances, communicating with customers to resolve billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve invoice disputes and drive solutions
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Work with management regarding escalated issues affecting open receivables balances
- Partner with Clients and Vendors on sensitive matters requiring skilled resolution
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:- Texas adjuster's license or the equivalent required. Associate degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent education and experience is a plus.
- 2-3 years of property adjusting experience required
- 2-3 years in accounts receivable and experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is a plus
- Ability to work overtime or flex schedules during high volume and CAT Events is required
- High level of proficiency in MS Excel (daily use)
- Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve escalated situations
- Ability to read, understand, and explain property insurance estimates and claims settlement practices
- Strong understanding of AR functions and related accounting transactions
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, team environment
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Ability to problem-solving and use critical thinking
- Ability to handle conflict in a professional and courteous manner
- Excellent verbal, electronic, and written communication, and customer service skills
- Work with peers and all departments for the common goals of the organization
- Reliable in meeting work commitments
- Must be flexible and adapt to most any situation
- Ability to utilize technology devices, software and application, previous experience with Microsoft Office Suites and basic computer skills required
- Reliable high speed home broadband internet connection with minimum 25 meg download and 10 meg upload speeds and ability to connect to home internet via ethernet cord is required if working remotely
- Ability to travel, if required
