Qualifications

• CAT Duty—availability for deployment to support customers in other states.

Responsibilities

• Handle mid to high complexity commercial property claims with minimal supervision.
• Inspect, document, and estimate damages for businesses after loss (water, fire, vehicle impact, hurricane, tornado, hail).
• Use Xactimate to determine settlements and validate third-party estimates/invoices.
• Interpret policy forms to establish coverages, conditions and limitations.
• Establish indemnity and expense reserves; control claim-related expenses.
• Communicate with agents, insureds, claimants, and company personnel; discuss coverage issues with supervisor.

Overview

Amtrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, is seeking a Property Claim Technical Field Adjuster to respond to the needs of our customers. As part of the Property line of business, the Property Claim Technical Field Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and estimating damages to ensure accuracy on business insurance claim.

We are lookimng for candidaites in White Plains, NY, Paterson, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Oakland, CA, and Sacramento, CA Areas.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the handling of commercial property claims that are of mid to high levels of complexity and/or severity.


• Physically inspect, document, and estimate damage to businesses that have suffered a loss. Common loss scenarios will include but not limited to interior water damage, partial or total fire, vehicle impact, hurricane, tornado, and hail damage.


• Use Xactimate estimating software to determine appropriate settlement amounts and to validate third party estimates / invoices.


• Interpret various policy forms and establish applicable coverages, conditions and limitations that may apply to the facts of the loss.


• Establishes accurate and timely indemnity and expense reserves. Controls and manages claim related expenses.


• Communicates with agents, insureds, claimants, and company personnel, keeping them apprised of appropriate information. Discusses possible coverage issues with supervisor and drafts coverage positions as applicable.


• Ability to recognize when to refer claims to Special Investigations, Subrogation and/or Complex Claim Units.


• Adhere to all statutory and regulatory fair claims practices.


• Performs other functional duties as requested or required.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience handling commercial field property claims with elements of complexity/severity


• Proficient knowledge of property estimating software and ability to independently prepare damage estimates in excess of $100,000


• This position may require the individual to access and inspect all areas of a structure, which is physically demanding and may require the ability to carry, set up and climb a ladder, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces.


• Ability to obtain adjuster licenses as needed


• Ability to work remotely and independently


• CAT Duty-This position will require participation in our Catastrophe Response Program, which could include deployments away from assigned territory to assist our customers in other states for extended periods


• Valid driver’s license


• Reliable automobile


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

• Advanced knowledge of Xactimate estimating system


• Prior experience adjusting property claims using virtual technologies


• Currently hold P&C adjusters license(s)


• Easily adapts to new or changing situations, requirements, or priorities
