Job summary

The City of Little Rock is seeking a Building Inspector to regularly assess commercial, industrial, and office buildings, as well as structures under construction, to ensure compliance with City building codes.

This position requires a high school diploma and two years of experience in building construction or inspection, including blueprint reading, and at least one year of computer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years of experience in building construction, building inspection, residential framing construction, or related area.
• At least one year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
• At least one year of computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspect sub-standard commercial, industrial and office buildings for compliance with City of Little Rock Building codes.
• Inspect buildings under construction and residential homes under construction to ensure compliance with building codes.
• Maintain records and communicate findings as required.
