Job summary

Fayette Chamber of Commerce (GA) is seeking a full-time Appraiser I–IV to participate in the appraisal of property for ad valorem tax purposes. The role includes field reviews, data collection, and preparing appeals while maintaining certification requirements.

Starting salary is provided with benefits; the position requires knowledge of appraisal procedures, data entry, and public assistance by phone or in person. Georgia certification is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Specialized training in field in addition to basic skills.
• 1–2 years of related experience or apprenticeship/internship.
• Valid Georgia driver's license.
• Ability to obtain Georgia Department of Revenue certification.

Responsibilities

• Participates in compilation of the annual property tax digest.
• Reviews building permits referencing the real property parcel number.
• Conducts field reviews and visits property owners for data collection.
• Takes and uploads property pictures and enters appraisal data.
• Collects data for property appeals; analyzes sales ratios and prepares letters for appeals.
