Job summary

Stout Management Company, a Nevada-based property management leader, seeks a Controller to lead the Accounting and AP teams, drive strong controls, and modernize processes. This role emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, and delivering accurate financials to support business decisions.

You will partner with Operations and Admin to streamline workflows, manage cash and reserves, and handle complex accounting matters while upholding our culture and values.

Qualifications

• Know GAAP inside and out and can explain it clearly.
• Property management accounting experience (minimum 2 years).
• Enjoy mentoring and building strong teams.
• Comfortable talking directly with clients and leadership on complex topics.
• Love improving systems and adopting new tech.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting and AP teams with confidence, collaboration, and accountability.
• Turn property financials into accurate, timely deliverables.
• Build and protect strong accounting controls to reduce risk.
• Modernize workflows with technology and smarter systems.
• Partner with Operations and Admin to streamline processes and communication.
• Monitor cash flow, reserves, and banking activity and flag issues early.
• Support complex accounting matters and tight deadlines as needed.
