Job summary

Stream Realty Partners is seeking a Property Accountant II to join our team. You will participate in full-cycle G/L accounting and support the property management group with budgets and reconciliations.

You will gain exposure to monthly financial statements, journal entries, depreciation, and reporting to clients, with a hybrid schedule and opportunities for development within a growing firm.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of accounting or reporting experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.
• Knowledge of real estate accounting software (Yardi/MRI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal and external reporting of portfolio/property financial results.
• Prepare monthly financial statement packages with journal entries and depreciation schedules.
• Review general ledger, reconcile bank statements, and ensure accuracy.
• Assist budget process and reconciliations for properties.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports and analyses.
• Process vendor invoices and monitor payables as needed.
• Ensure SOC I compliance and internal controls.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Collaborate with Property Management on budgets and reconciliations.

Job Description

TheProperty AccountantIIenjoysan assigned mentor, a defined career path, access to established training resources, and a hybrid work schedule,all within a company that recognizes property accounting's contribution to its ongoing success. The Property Accountant 2 will gain valuable experience withfull cycle G/L accounting. He or she willensure that the financial statements for their portfolio arecompletedtimelyand accurately. This includesadetailed review of monthly financial statements and general ledger along with reviewing daily transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies. Additionally, Property Accountantsassistthe Property Management team with the completion of Annual Budgets and Reconciliations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide internal and external reporting of a portfolio/property’s financial results. Preparethe monthly financial statement packages for clients. This work includes creating and posting journal entries recorded to the general ledger, fixed asset depreciation, and amortization schedules, in-depth review of the general ledger and income statement, bank statement reconciliations, in-depth property manager variance comment review, and balance sheet reconciliations.Ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met.
• Interactfrequentlyvia verbal and written communication with the property management team and the Property Manager(s)regardingaccounting and financial information.
• Interact with Clients as needed on basic or intermediate issues. Include supervisor or manager on complex or advanced issues.
• Support the property budgeting process and expense reconciliation preparation throughthereview of data.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses as required.
• Prepare andsubmitSales & Use Tax returns, as applicable.
• Manage and review the cash accounts of each project/property; Ensure criticaltimelypayment of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions.
• Review and post cash receipts as needed.
• Review payables. Process vendor invoices for payment as needed.
• Ensure compliance withSOC Irequirements.
• Provide excellent external and internal customer service.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related accounting/reporting experience.
• Analytical and accounting skillscommensuratewith experience level.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to listen and ask questions for clarification.
• Ability to interact with Clients and team members.
• Self-motivation, ability to multi-task,and thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to take initiative in solving routine/intermediate problems and presentpossible solutionstosupervisor.
• Intermediate competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of various accounting software; Yardi and/or MRI experience is a plus.
• Full-cycle G/L accounting and real estate industry experience are a plus.
