JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This is a remote position; candidates local to Houston, TX are preferred.

The role involves applying GAAP principles to analyze financial data, reconcile statements, prepare journal entries, assist in budgeting, and generate financial reports for management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Compile and analyze financial information for entry into financial statements and reports, including making journal entries and reconciling figures.
  2. Review budgets, revenue, expenses, payroll, invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
  3. Perform bank reconciliations, wire transfers, mortgage payments, and ensure accuracy.
  4. Maintain accounting control procedures by analyzing revenue and expenditure trends and recommending budget adjustments.
  5. Review financial resources related to property transactions, funding, contracts, and grants.
  6. Coordinate with auditors by providing explanations, research data, and answering queries.
  7. Communicate with property managers to support accounting activities and ensure timely reporting.
  8. Complete various financial reports and perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience analyzing financial data and preparing reports in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, with strong time management skills.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS
  • Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with financial/property management systems (e.g., Yardi, One Site).
  • Understanding of accounting best practices and applicable laws/regulations.

Factors such as experience, skills, and location influence pay. The role may include bonuses based on individual and company performance, with additional incentives for onsite positions.
