Job summary

Truity Partners in Milwaukee is seeking a Property Accountant to join our client’s team. The role offers a path to a hybrid work setup after training, with a salary range of $70K–$85K and a focus on accurate monthly close, AR/AP, and budget analyses.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting and at least one year of experience, with strong detail orientation and communication skills to manage tenant charges and financial reporting in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • 1+ years of accounting experience; real estate industry preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Yardi, and Kardin preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented; able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly accounting close entries and financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements, review accounts payable invoices, and manage accounts receivable and tenant collections.
  • Review operating results against budgets and prepare variance analyses for management review.
  • Prepare and review annual property budgets, quarterly/mid-year financial statements, and financial reforecasts.
  • Review monthly tenant charges, enter non-recurring charges, and assist with tenant billing disputes.
  • Prepare and review CAM, real estate tax, insurance, and other reconciliations.
  • Support property onboarding, internal accounting controls, staff meetings, and department-related special projects.

Job description

Our client is an organization in the Milwaukee area that’s looking for a Property Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 1+ years of experience, organized, and has high attention to detail. This company offers flexibility, a laidback culture, and a collaborative team. This position can be hybrid after training is completed.

The salary for this position is $70K - $85K.

The Property Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare monthly accounting close entries and financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements, review accounts payable invoices, and actively manage accounts receivable and tenant collections.
  • Review operating results against budgets and prepare variance analyses for management review.
  • Prepare and review annual property budgets, quarterly/mid-year financial statements, and financial reforecasts.
  • Review monthly tenant charges, enter non-recurring charges, and assist with tenant billing disputes.
  • Prepare and review CAM, real estate tax, insurance, and other miscellaneous reconciliations.
  • Support property onboarding, internal accounting controls, staff meetings, and department-related special projects.

The Property Accountant will possess the following:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 1+ years of related experience; real estate industry experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Yardi, and Kardin preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow up on open items through resolution.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time-management skills and the ability to meet reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a positive, professional attitude while working independently and collaboratively.
