Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support the financial operations of a portfolio of properties. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and strong knowledge of property accounting systems such as Yardi.

The successful candidate will perform GL reconciliations, analyze financial statements, and assist with CAM reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to maintain reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• 3+ years of property accounting experience.
• Experience with Yardi strongly preferred; MRI, Rent Manager or similar ERP systems considered.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and compliance.
• Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Review and perform lease abstraction.
• Help resolve accounts payable discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and reporting compliance.
