Job summary

CFS in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Property Accountant to support monthly close, capital activity, and portfolio reporting. This role offers exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and long-term advancement in a collaborative, employee-focused environment.

You will prepare journal entries, maintain balance sheet schedules, and work with property management on variance analysis and budgets. A Bachelor's in Accounting and 2+ years in real estate accounting are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Real estate accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain balance sheet schedules and support month-end close activities.
• Record and analyze capital activity, fixed assets, and depreciation.
• Assist with accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions.
• Partner with Property Management on variance analysis and budget support.
• Support audits, tax filings, lender requests, and financial reporting activities.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
