Sonida Senior Living is seeking a seasoned Property Accountant for a hybrid Dallas-based role. You will handle monthly close processes, journal entries, and AR/GL reconciliations for multi-entity properties, leveraging Yardi Voyager and Elevate, and collaborating with property teams to ensure accurate reporting.

Required BS in Accounting and 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or publicly traded environments.

Qualificações

• BS in Accounting or equivalent with strong fundamentals in financial accounting.
• Five or more years of general accounting experience, preferably multi-entity or real estate.
• Experience with GAAP and internal controls in a corporate setting.

Responsabilidades

• Performs monthly property close processes including accruals, depreciation, revenue, and AR.
• Prepares monthly journal entries and coordinates with property leadership for accruals and adjustments.
• Reconciles bank statements and GL accounts; documents variances and resolves reconciling items.
• Maintains fixed asset records including additions, disposals, and inter-property transfers.
• Performs variance analysis and prepares monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
• Communicates effectively with property personnel and management to ensure accuracy.
• Assists in special projects or duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Perform property accounting close processes on monthly basis, including Balance Sheet & Expense account reconciliation, property financial close package, AR Aging Review and Follow-up, Asset Management Accounting, Expense Accounts Variance Analysis on a timely manner.

*This is a hybrid role based in our Dallas office.

Responsibilities:

• Performs monthly property close process for assigned properties, including recording accruals, depreciation, revenue, and Accounts Receivable.
• Prepares monthly journal entries for assigned properties, including communicating with property-level leadership about required accruals and adjustments.
• Reconciles property-level bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly, including the documentation and resolution of variances or reconciling items.
• Analyzes and maintains the fixed asset records, including the addition, disposal and transferring of assets between properties, and investigating and correcting system discrepancies for assigned properties.
• Performs general ledger account analysis, including documenting variance explanations, for assigned properties
• Prepares monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
• Effectively communicates with property personnel and management.
• Assists in special projects or duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• BS in Accounting
• Five or more years of general accounting experience, preferably at a publicly traded company
• Experience with multi-entity environments or property/ location-level accounting and reporting preferred

Skill/knowledge Requirements:

• Experience with computer-based accounting systems, Yardi Voyager/Elevate a plus
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel, including V-lookups and pivot tables
• Knowledge of US GAAP, accounting procedures and internal controls
• Experience reviewing financial statements and creating variance analyses required
• Ability to act and operateindependently with minimal daily direction
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving, and results.
