Job summary

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Property Accountant in Chandler, AZ. You will maintain accuracy of financial reporting, support budgeting and variance analysis, and ensure GAAP-compliant records for real estate assets and properties.

You will collaborate with finance, operations, and property management to prepare timely statements, perform month-end close, reconciliations, and cost allocations, driving sound financial decisions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting or real estate.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting processes.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle or similar) and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities; complete journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage property accounting activities; maintain accurate records and cost allocations.
• Perform financial analysis and variance reporting; identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax reporting and internal controls.

About The Role

As a Property Accountant at Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while supporting the financial performance of our business operations and real estate assets. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles, while offering the opportunity to contribute directly to financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with finance, operations, property management, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and sound financial decision-making. This is an onsite role located in Chandler, AZ.

What You'll Do

• Prepares financial statements and reports – Ensures financial data is accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP and company policies.
• Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities – Completes journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
• Manages property accounting activities – Maintains accurate records, monitors account activity, and oversees cost allocations for assigned properties.
• Performs financial analysis and variance reporting – Identifies trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for operational improvement.
• Supports budgeting, forecasting, and compliance efforts – Assists with budgets, audits, tax reporting, and internal control processes to strengthen financial performance.

Who You Are

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within property accounting, real estate, manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Technical Skills – Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close processes, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Soft Skills – Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to effectively partner with cross-functional teams.
• Additional Qualifications – Experience supporting audits, tax compliance activities, budgeting, forecasting, and financial process improvements.
