Our Opportunity:
Thales UK currently have an exciting opportunity for Properties Accountant to join our Real estate team within Thales Finance. You will provide day to day financial support for Thales Properties Ltd and be responsible for the production of the Reporting Packages to Group. This will include Income Statement, Balance Sheet and cash flows (actuals, forecast, budget). You will liaise with other parties to guarantee the quality of all the information in a timely manner.
Day to day you will:
Provide financial support to Real Estate Function Controller in month end reviews and QFRs, ensure control of overhead and operating costs, comparisons between actual & budget, identifying and analysing anomalies, defining actions and ensuring resolution.
Provision of regular, or ad hoc, financial reports & management accounts (including cost centre reporting) in line with the business requirements.
Prepare quarterly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring that they are performed to a high professional standard. Ensure they are all reviewed & outstanding actions are cleared in a timely manner.
Preparation of journal vouchers as required e.g. business accruals, prepayments, project accruals for sales, cost of sales, contract variances.
Production of the monthly financial results (including I/S, B/S and OCF) along with supporting schedules, ensuring all deadlines are achieved.
Completion of Group Reporting Packages including any disclosures (Actuals, Budget, Forecast) ensuring accurate submissions are made in a timely manner.
Hold monthly reviews of financial information with the Real Estate Function Controller/business and
ensure all corrective action is taken to resolve issues.
Assist in the preparation of the monthly Business Operational Review (BOR) reporting pack, including
commentary and analysis.
Prepare data for the multi-year budget (MYB), developing and maintaining effective mechanisms for
the preparation of annual budget estimates and realisable forecasts.
Assisting in the preparation of the real estate recharge workbook during MYB and providing detailed breakdowns to the businesses.
About You
You should hold relevant qualifications and have a Financial and management accounting background. Ideally you will have a few years post qualification experience in a relevant role and ready to take your next step. You should be someone with excellent attention to detail with the ability to self govern.
