Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Propellant Manufacturing Engineer to lead propellant production for SRMs, ensuring safety, quality, and scalable processes.

You will collaborate with design, quality, and automation teams, drive DFM, SPC, and NPI, and mentor junior engineers as we ramp production at Midland, TX and NM sites.

This is an on-site role requiring DoD/ITAR familiarity and a passion for high-hazard manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, including propellant or energetic materials.
• Experience scaling propellant or energetic mixing and curing processes in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own or lead propellant manufacturing processes including mixing, casting, curing, and finishing.
• Develop and improve process parameters, work instructions, and control plans.
• Drive DFMs, FMEA, SPC, and yield improvement initiatives.
• Support NPI by translating formulations into scalable processes.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Automation & Controls to improve mixing and handling.
• Ensure compliance with energetic materials safety and DoD/ITAR standards.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; support training and standardization.
• Help ramp Midland, TX and Project Ranger NM facilities.
