The position involves setup of mechanical systems, operating test equipment like Instrons and pressure chambers, and documenting results while adhering to 5S/Lean practices; shift work may apply.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; 0–2 years of education/experience acceptable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication for clear documentation.
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.

Responsibilities

  • Review and implement test plans, drawings, specifications, and planning documents.
  • Set up, fabricate, and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
  • Operate test equipment including Instrons, pressure chambers, ovens, and energetic safety testing devices.
  • Analyze production and subscale propellant samples.
  • Fabricate inert and energetic samples according to detailed instructions.
  • Read, interpret, and apply technical drawings and procedures.
  • Maintain neat and accurate records.
  • Implement 5S and Lean Manufacturing; host monthly energetics demonstrations.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols; wear PPE.
  • Work a 4/10 schedule with potential overtime, weekends, and holidays.
