Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Relocation & Travel

No relocation assistance available. The position requires 100% onsite work in Promontory, UT, with no telecommute option.

Security Clearance

A U.S. Government Secret clearance is required. Candidates must qualify for the ATF Explosives Possessor designation and Department of Defense security clearance.

Job Purpose

As an Engineering Technician – Levels 1 or 2, you will support propulsion development projects by testing, fabricating, and analyzing propellants and energetic materials.

Core Responsibilities
  • Review and implement test plans, drawings, specifications, and planning documents.
  • Set up, fabricate, and troubleshoot mechanical systems.

Qualifications – Level 1
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 0–2 years of additional education or experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Competence in following detailed written instructions and safety procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for clear documentation.
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications – Level 2
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of additional education or experience; associate degree preferred.
  • Strong technical background in mechanics, electronics, or industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement technical drawings and procedures.
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
  • Physical endurance to stand, work from knees, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs while wearing PPE.
  • Willingness to perform shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Preferred experience with mechanical property testing equipment such as Instron and MTS systems.
  • Eligibility for an employee possessor designation.
Salary Range

Primary Level: $40,700.00 – $67,900.00
Secondary Level: $48,400.00 – $80,600.00
