Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Materials Process Engineer / Propellant Chemist for the Missile Solutions Segment, located in Camden, AR or Orange, VA. The role emphasizes propellant chemistry, materials processing, and manufacturing with collaboration with Propellant Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering with 4 years of related technical experience in energetic materials (or a graduate degree with 2 years).
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and modifies processes for the manufacture and utilization of solid rocket propellants and energetics formulations.
• Provides practical solutions to technical problems through chemistry/chemical engineering principles and tools.
• Participates in design processes including trade studies, supplier selection, concurrent design and development, materials characterization, data analysis, and drawing review.
• Responsible for preparation, execution and maintenance of materials and process specifications, and materials control plans.
