Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is hiring a Propane Specialist to safely deliver propane to customers, manage loading and unloading, and uphold high safety standards. You will perform vehicle inspections, collaborate with dispatch for routing, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional service.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1 year propane experience, and CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements, plus a current DOT medical certificate. Willingness to rotate on-call is required.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with Tanker & Hazmat endorsements are required.
• DOT medical certification must be current.
• Willingness to rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane to customers, maintaining safety and accuracy.
• Use technology to monitor inventory, print delivery tickets, and submit daily driver reports.
• Perform pre/post vehicle inspections and site inspections for safety and compliance.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling, reporting issues promptly.
• Install propane tanks and respond to emergencies, performing maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Propane Specialist is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Specialist will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Propane Specialist are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane products to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks, and/or cylinders) for customers. Initiate and conduct the asset verification process. Collect customer signatures/stamps and payments for deposit if necessary. Offer customer brochures with basic price lists and a contact number. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable, document pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the Dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Provide Propane tank installations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all state/local codes and safety policies. Identify and correct any leaks from the tank to equipment connection. Respond to customer emergencies as needed. Complete tank inspections and repairs at customer locations. Perform tank maintenance on spare tanks in preparation of installation.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year job related (Propane) experience
• CDL Class A or B with Tanker & Hazmat Endorsements
• Up-to-date DOT medical certification
• Willingness to rotate “on call” status during evenings and weekends as needed.
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

Pay Transparency:

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
