Freedom Ag & Energy Cooperative in Oakland, MD is seeking a Propane Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair propane and oil burning systems. You will work independently and provide usage instructions to customers while upholding safety standards.
Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Propane Certification (or ability to obtain), CDL Class B, HazMat endorsement (or ability to obtain), and 2+ years of field experience with propane or HVAC systems.

Serving our communities propane and/or oil burning systems repairs and installation needs. As a Service Tech with Freedom Ag & Energy Cooperative, you will be the face of our team - safely performing outstanding installation, maintenance, and repair of propane and/or oil burning systems. This role offers independence, variety, and the opportunity to work with modern equipment across multiple product lines, including propane, heating oil, kerosene, diesel, and gasoline. Along with each customer visit, you will provide usage instructions for all equipment and appliances service. Review account details, collect payments or provide invoices, and confirm future service with customers. Through excellent service and customers referrals, you will be part of our success in growing and maintaining FAE market share.
Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of propane systems, equipment, and appliances.
May also perform repair and maintenance work on diesel or gasoline tanks and equipment.

Gather and analyze information to diagnose malfunctions and troubleshoot systems.
Provide usage instructions for all equipment and appliances serviced.
Review account details, collect payments or provide invoices, and confirm future service with customers.
Depending upon location, may load and deliver supplies of propane and/or other fuels according to standard operating procedures.
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Licensing: Licensing requirements vary by location and are based on state/federal regulations. Requires Petroleum and/or Propane Certification (or ability to obtain) Requires Commercial Driver's License (Class B) Requires Hazardous Materials and/or Tanker Endorsement (or ability to obtain) License in HVAC, Liquid Propane Gas Fitter or related trade is a plus
Experience: Requires two (2) or more years of experience with installation and repair of propane or oil-based heating systems (HVAC), equipment and appliances, as well as experience with diesel and gasoline equipment. Previous Freedom Ag & Energy work experience a plus. Additional Requirements: Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle as defined by FAE motor vehicle safety policies Handle and lift canisters into truck and/or utilize load hose, meters, gauges, and terminal controls for bulk fuel loading (top load and bottom load) Commitment to safety, reliability, and serving customers with professionalism.
