Job summary

The Burch Oil Company in Hollywood, MD is seeking a propane installation and service technician. The role focuses on installing, maintaining and servicing customer propane installations and equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities include on-site inspections, documentation of installed equipment, safe operation of the service vehicle, scheduling coordination, and ensuring licenses and CETP certifications remain current.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Maryland driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background and drug test.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work from heights.
• Three to five years' experience in propane installations and maintenance.
• Proficient with handheld devices (e.g., smartphones).

Responsibilities

• Set, repair and maintain tanks and cylinders; install first stage line; conduct system tests; and prepare installations for inspections.
• Complete field repairs of tank valves, lines and seals; troubleshoot for leaks; and make appropriate repairs
• Document all installed equipment on site with make, model, serial number, fuel type, tank inventory and photos
• Operates assigned vehicle safely and keeps it stocked with parts and safety equipment
• Troubleshoot and service propane appliances such as stoves, water heaters, fireplaces, furnaces, boilers and room heaters
• Coordinate with Administrative Assistant to maintain daily schedule and communicate changes to customers
• Complete and submit monthly inventory of the assigned vehicle
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle service schedule
• Keep licenses, endorsements, and CETP certifications current; ensure safety standards are met
• Maintain a neat appearance in company uniform and perform duties safely
• Complete other tasks as requested
