Job summary

Haffner’s, a regional fuel distributor serving New England, seeks a delivery driver to transport fuel oil, diesel, and propane with safety and efficiency. You may assist with meter readings and fleet maintenance during slower periods.

A valid CDL with hazmat and related endorsements is required, along with a DOT medical certificate and ability to pass tests. Expect a full-time schedule with a competitive hourly rate and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of petroleum or propane delivery experience preferred.
• Commercial Driver’s License with hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements.
• Valid DOT medical certificate.
• Ability to drive a standard-shift transmission.
• Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and physical tests.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts.
• Experience with regulatory agency requirements (DOT, HazMat, OSHA, FMCSA).
• Licensing and certifications as applicable (e.g. CETP delivery modules for propane).
• Proficient in the use of Android tablets and web-based software applications.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently delivers distillates and propane as directed by the distribution office team, observing all applicable safety practices and company regulations in the performance of duties.
• Performs return-to-service duties including leak checks, relighting (propane), and prime/starts (oil).
• Maintains daily, respectful communications with office staff and management.
• Inspects and maintains delivery trucks, conducts pre-trip inspections, handles paperwork, keeps clean surroundings, and records issues.
• Maintains and submits accurate reports and customer payments.
• Participates in safety/operations meetings and suggests process improvements.
• Uses PPE as required and supports customer delivery matters as needed.
• Keeps the office and management informed of delivery or customer situations.
• Assists in off-season tasks such as fleet reconditioning, meter reading, and property maintenance.
