Job summary

Jones Petroleum Transport Company is seeking a Propane Driver to safely deliver propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers. A CDL class B with HazMat and Tanker endorsements is required, and drivers must perform pre-trip inspections and paperwork.

Primarily local routes with home nightly. This hourly, non-exempt role emphasizes customer service, DOT safety compliance, and maintaining accurate delivery records.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with HazMat/Tanker endorsements required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 85 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to climb in/out of cab and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Knowledge of propane systems and safety practices.
• NPGA CETP certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Safe Delivery: Operate propane truck, load/unload, deliver propane following DOT rules and safety protocols.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally, address concerns, explain system operation, and provide emergency support.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct leak tests, pressure checks, inspections, and maintain delivery/maintenance records.
• Vehicle & Equipment: Perform daily truck inspections, keep vehicles clean, assist with tank maintenance.
• Documentation: Complete delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other paperwork accurately.

This job is HOURLY and Non-Exempt.

Provide a 5 year work history

A Propane Driver safely delivers propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers, requiring a CDL class B with HazMat/Tanker endorsements, performing pre-trip inspections, handling tanks and hoses, ensuring safety compliance (like leak tests), providing customer service, and completing paperwork, often working varied hours, especially during peak seasons, and sometimes involving tank maintenance or installation.

Class of Equipment – Bobtail

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe Delivery: Operate a propane truck, load/unload, and deliver bulk/cylinder propane following all DOT rules and safety protocols.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally, address concerns, explain system operation, and provide emergency support.
• Safety & Compliance: Conduct leak tests, pressure checks, inspections, and maintain accurate delivery/maintenance records.
• Vehicle & Equipment: Perform daily truck inspections, keep vehicles clean, and assist with tank maintenance, setting, or removal.
• Documentation: Complete delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other necessary paperwork accurately.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• License: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)- minimum Class B with Tanker (N) and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements.
• Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 85 pounds occasionally in various weather conditions
• Standing, Bending, able to climb in and out of cab with ease often
• Knowledge: Understanding of propane systems, safety, and customer needs.
• Certifications: May require NPGA CETP certification.
