Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a propane delivery driver to operate delivery equipment safely and deliver propane to customers. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate records of deliveries, meter readings, and tank levels.

A CDL B with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements is required, along with familiarity with bulk plant operations. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and efficient, cost-effective delivery.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
• Valid CDL B license with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements.
• Working knowledge of bulk plant and bulk truck equipment.
• Working knowledge of the proper procedures for the delivery of propane gas.
• Operate motor vehicles, telephones, calculators, and various hand and power tools.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate truck and delivery equipment safely.
• Deliver propane gas.
• Perform pre trip and post trip safety inspections of vehicle and equipment.
• Document findings of inspections and ensure appropriate action is taken for any exceptions.
• Prepare and maintain documentation required by the Department of Transportation.
• Record deliveries, meter readings and tank percentages accurately.
• Check credit status of customers prior to making deliveries when on call.
• Collect payments from customers and disconnect gas service as directed.
• Inspect bulk plants, plant equipment and delivery equipment.
• Inform Delivery Manager of items needing attention or repair.
• Ensure vehicles are mechanically maintained and clean.
• Disconnect and reconnect gas service and relight appliances as policy dictates.
