Federated Co-ops, Inc. seeks a Propane Delivery Driver Apprentice to work at the Cambridge Propane Plant in Cambridge, MN. You will learn to deliver LP gas, install propane tanks, and support gas system maintenance, with safety as a top priority.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane to customer storage tanks following policy and procedures.
• Operate delivery trucks and equipment in compliance with DOT regulations and company rules.
• Perform tank setting, leak testing, and LP gas system maintenance as needed.
• Assist Sales with calls and potential sales targeting areas.
• Maintain and paint LP gas tanks at locations.
• Inspect and keep bulk facility, truck and equipment clean and safe.

Federated Co-ops, Inc. has an opening for a Propane Delivery Driver Apprentice to work out of our Cambridge Propane Plant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the propane industry as we are willing to take and train the right person! As a Propane Delivery Driver Apprentice, you will learn how to deliver fuel to our patrons in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities include driving a tank truck to deliver liquefied petroleum (LP) gas, install propane tanks, and assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas systems at customer locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Delivery of product involves loading propane into the bulk truck and delivering into customers’ storage tanks in accordance to company, division, and location policy and procedures.
• Drives and operates trucks, vehicles, equipment and tools safely and efficiently by following all current D.O.T. regulations, company policies, manufactures instructions, State and local laws and codes, and any other applicable laws, codes or regulations.
• Tank Setting, Leak Testing, Tank Management and Repairs for LP gas systems as required by NFPA codes and regulations.
• Assist Sales Department with calls and potential sales target areas.
• Maintains and paints LP gas tanks at company and customer locations.
• Inspect and maintain bulk facility, bulk truck and equipment continuously to ensure cleanliness, safety, proper operation and positive cooperative image.
• Documents all work as required by company, division, and location policy.
• Available and able to work on-call weeknights and weekends.
• Rail facility unloading duties if applicable to the location.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Previous Propane and CDL experience is preferred
• Must have a valid Driver's license.
• Active CDL with endorsements preferred
• Able to obtain a Class B CDL License with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move more than 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee will manually dig trenches to install LP gas lines. Employee will lift and carry cement blocks.

Wage

The wage range for this position is set at $20 - $30 / hour. The actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
