Job summary

Burke Oil & Propane Company is seeking a propane driver to join our team in North Carolina. We offer a position with Full-Time and/or Part-Time options, relocation assistance for exceptional candidates, and a focus on safety and customer service.

Ideal candidates have a Class B CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements, a valid medical card, a clean MVR, and at least 2 years of driving experience. You must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and handle hose operations at each stop.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements (Class A preferred).
• Valid medical card.
• Clean MVR.
• Driving experience – 2 years.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Make up to 30 stops a day.
• Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Drag a 1.5” diameter hose up to 150’ at each stop.
• Capable to uncoil and recoil hose from truck and move hose as needed.
• Capable of climbing in/out of the truck cab and stairs up to 60 times a day.
• Travel to service Burke, Catawba, Lincoln and Caldwell counties in NC.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsement, Class A is preferred
• Valid medical card
• Clean M.V.R.
• Driving experience – 2 years

• Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• High School diploma or equivalent

Additionally

• Experience loading a bobtail propane truck and/or tank wagon a plus.
• Experienced route delivery in residential and commercial settings a plus
• Sets a positive example and is a team player
• Manages work flow
• Performs other duties as required
• Capable of climbing in and out of a truck cab, ascending or descending 2 steps up to 60 times a day
• Make up to 30 stops a day
• Drag a 1.5” diameter hose up to 150’ at each stop
• Capable to uncoil and recoil hose from truck, pulling hose over shoulder
• Ability to perform bilateral and single reaching wrist rotation and fine dexterity to steer truck, engage controls to dispense product and handle hose
• Stand and walk up to 90 minutes during delivery time at customers location
• Climb a ladder up to 5’
• Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs
• Experience driving in ice and snow

Compensation Income: $24 - $29 an hour depending upon experience.
