Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Bobtail Driver to safely and promptly deliver propane to residential and commercial customers. You will load, unload and provide exceptional service while maintaining top safety standards for delivery and handling of propane.

You will drive tanker-equipped trucks, perform routine vehicle inspections, and use technology to monitor inventory, print tickets and complete daily driver reports. Overtime may be required during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B.
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Current DOT medical certification required.
• Legal authorization to work in the US; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane to customers (bulk truck, tanks and cylinders).
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle.
• Use technology to monitor transfer of propane, track inventory, print delivery tickets and complete driver reports.
• Perform pre- and post- vehicle inspections and document inspections as applicable.
• Collaborate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; report issues promptly.
• Overtime may be required during business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Propane Bobtail Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Delivery Driver will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Delivery Drivers are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you'll do:

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane, product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver report where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable document, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Employees may be required to work overtime hours when business needs require it.
• Other duties as assigned.

We offer multiple work rotations based on operational needs and employee preference:

• 6 months on / 6 months off
• 7 months on / 5 months off
• 8 months on / 4 months off
• 9 months on / 3 months off

During your active season, you'll play a critical role in delivering propane and supporting customers throughout high-demand winter months. Off-season periods provide extended time away from work between active assignments.

The hourly rate ranges from $30.00 - $32.00, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates based on industry experience, CDL/Hazmat endorsements, and technical expertise.
