Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Bobtail Driver to safely and efficiently deliver propane to customers. You will load, unload and handle propane, maintain vehicle safety inspections, and provide exceptional customer service.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, at least 1 year of delivery driving experience, CDL Class A or B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements, a current DOT medical certificate, and willingness to rotate on-call status during evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, load and deliver propane to customers using bulk trucks, tanks and cylinders.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and equipment.
• Use technology to track transfers, print delivery tickets and complete driver reports.
• Conduct pre/post vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; communicate issues promptly.
• May work overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Propane Bobtail Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Delivery Driver will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Delivery Drivers are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you'll do:

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane, product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver report where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable document, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Employees may be required to work overtime hours when business needs require it.
• Other duties as assigned.
