Job summary

Superior Plus Propane in Tehachapi, CA is seeking a Propane Bobtail Driver responsible for safe and timely delivery, loading and unloading propane, and delivering exceptional customer service.

You will maintain vehicle safety, perform inspections, work with dispatch for routing, and may work overtime as needed. Must have High School diploma, CDL Class A or B, DOT medical certification, and legal work status in the US; Hazmat endorsement preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience preferred.
• CDL Class A or B required.
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane to customers from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders).
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology to monitor inventory, tank levels and print delivery tickets; complete daily driver reports.
• Perform pre- and post- vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Collaborate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; communicate safety issues promptly.
• Overtime hours may be required as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Propane Bobtail Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Delivery Driver will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Delivery Drivers are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane, product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver report where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable document, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Employees may be required to work overtime hours when business needs require it.
• Other duties as assigned.

The hourly rate ranges from $27.00 – $29.00, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates based on industry experience, CDL/Hazmat endorsements, and technical expertise.
