Job summary

Kehoe Designs is seeking a Welder to build and assemble props and furniture for events. You will work with the welding team to meet production deadlines and prepare items for delivery, including finishing touches like wrapping, drilling, bolting, and painting.

Flexibility to work evenings/weekends, strong attention to detail, and good English communication are essential for success in this hands-on shop environment in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Welding experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, read and speak simple English.
• Good verbal communication with Warehouse team.
• Ability to interpret pull sheets.
• Familiarity with proper packing methods is helpful.
• Must provide basic tools: wire cutter and utility knife.
• Experience with welding tools and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Welds builds and constructs custom props and furniture according to design specifications.
• Works with welding staff to ensure production flows smoothly and deadlines are met.
• Prepares props and furniture for events including wrapping fabric, drilling holes, bolting, hammering, and hand/spray painting.
• Manages supplies/inventory to ensure stock according to production needs and organized storage.
• Wraps furniture and props for delivery.
