Job summary

US Foods is hiring a driver to deliver to customers in the local area. You will safely operate straight trucks, unload with a pallet jack, verify delivery details with customers, and collect payments when applicable.

The role requires a CDL-B with endorsements, six months of driving experience (or three months in food/beverage delivery), and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. FMCSA Clearinghouse registration and legal age of 21+ are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Six months commercial driving experience or three months in food/beverage delivery required.
  • CDL Class B with endorsements and DOT qualifications required; Class A preferred.
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse as part of DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
  • Carefully unload products with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and store in designated areas.
  • Verify accuracy of deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
  • Provide professional customer service to enhance client experience.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.

Main Ingredients of the Job
  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
What You Bring to the Table
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • CDL Class A Preferred
  • Must have valid CDL Class B issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is $22.60.
