Job summary

US Foods is seeking drivers to deliver to customers with a focus on safety and reliability. Starting pay is $34.95/hour, with Monday through Friday shifts starting at 5:00am.

As a driver, you will safely operate trucks, unload deliveries, verify orders with customers, and handle payments when needed. You will perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain professional customer service on every route.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registration required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
• Unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas.
• Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain proper signatures.
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
• Perform customer service duties to enhance client experience.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.

Main Ingredients of the Job

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times

• Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas

• Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience

• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required

• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

What You Bring to the Table

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications

• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required

• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations

• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is $34.95/hour.

This role will also receive overtime compensation.
