About the Goldfield District Project

Located on the Walker Lane trend in Esmeralda County, Nevada, about 30 miles south of Tonopah, the Goldfield District Project can be accessed via U.S. Highway 95 from Las Vegas or Reno. This project is an underexplored property in a prolific mining jurisdiction that provides substantial upside potential.

Goldfield is a conventional open-pit, heap leach project currently proceeding with development and construction after completing a technical study in August 2025. The project has an approximate mine life of 7-years and first production is expected by the end of 2028, adding to Centerra’s near-term gold production profile.

Goldfield District Projectpromotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.

About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Technicianto join our Goldfield Project team located in Goldfield, Nevada on a two year fixed-term basis.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Technician will be a field-based, rotational position responsible for providing site coordination and integrated project support to the technical, and project teams. This position will work closely with Project Engineer and Project Supervisor. The Project Technician supports project teams by assisting with planning, coordination, documentation, and technical tasks to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards. This role serves as a bridge between engineering, field operations, and project management, providing both administrative and technical support throughout the project lifecycle. This position is responsible for fostering a proactive Health, Safety and Security (HSS) culture at the site consistent with Centerra Safety Systems. This role will oversee, monitor and provide site leadership and guidance on all HSS related matters within the workplace.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Field-Based Technical Support

  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination of required contractor activities, incorporating forward-looking forecasting to anticipate resource needs and potential risks
  • Complete reviews of scopes with the team for upcoming field campaigns for construction activities – ensure accuracy, accessibility, and that Centerra safety requirements are being considered
  • Assist with the execution of site projects, including defining project requirements/scope/objectives, identifying resources required, and liaising with the project management team, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Work with Discipline Leads (i.e. Projects, Technical, Finance, Contracts, Safety, Environment, Community Relations) to coordinate project needs and manage tasks
  • Perform site inspections and monitor projects to ensure compliance with contracts, quality of work expectations, and applicable legislation, policy, procedures, and data collection, while using observations to inform future planning and forecasting efforts
  • Maintain required project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Conduct site visits or inspections to monitor progress and collect data
  • Assist with procurement, vendor coordination, and inventory management
  • Communicate with project team to review direction, resolve problems, recommend priorities, and implement corrective measures, supporting a transition toward more self-sufficient decision-making
  • Positively maintain site relationship with the local community and ensure that any local concerns are raised to the proper stakeholders

Safety and Compliance Support

  • Promote and implementing site HSS programs that foster a leading-edge safety culture
  • Assist with contractor site inductions for work under your direct oversight
  • Receive competent person training for the sites permit to work program (i.e. hot works, working at heights, confined space, lifting/rigging and trenching/excavation)
  • Provide interpretation and guidance to the Site to ensure accurate information on HSS regulations and proposed regulations affecting the industry and the business
  • Identify, report and help mitigate potential hazards and unsafe conditions. Monthly requirements met for safety inspections through Isometric reporting system
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses (JHA), and contractor weekly construction meetings
  • Assist all site functions in their efforts to remain free of injury, significant/security incidents, as well as any HSS regulatory violations through the initiation of facility and regulatory monitoring and oversight. If deficiencies exist, keep the site leadership/management team informed and work with responsible site and project personnel to correct deficiencies as required
About You

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 10 years or more of relevant project experience with at least 5 years in the mining industry
  • Knowledge and experience with green and brown field mining projects and related construction risks is a requirement.
  • Knowledge and experience with Nevada OHS regulations and working environments is a requirement; Sound understanding of Nevada mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and management skills to lead contractors, follow standard operating procedures, implement safety measures, and progressively operate with increased independence in coordinating site activities
  • Possess leadership acumen and skill sets to manage across different disciplines including cross-functional cooperation with safety, supply chain, human resources, community-based issues, environmental concerns, and more including with Projects and Technical Services team members
  • Able to passionately support and represent Centerra’s commitment to long-term sustainability
  • Leadership acumen and skill to liaise with external organizations, regulatory authorities, contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Proven effective interpersonal skills to interact with and lead people at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated preference for spending majority of work time in hands-on field experience as opposed to office administration, direct interaction with employees, track record of and role model for strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team setting
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team setting, with a clear progression toward increased ownership and independent execution of responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Bilingual Spanish is an asset)
