Job description

Job Summary

Perform a variety of work connected with the operations, inspections, and maintenance of combustion turbine sites. Responsibilities include mechanical, basic electrical, control and instrument maintenance, and other duties necessary to maintain the generation facilities at the Sheboygan Falls Generating Station in Plymouth, WI. The position is a Project Position lasting up to 30 months, with potential extension into a regular position. Work is performed on an evening schedule from 2:00p.m. to 10:00p.m.

Responsibilities

• Perform combustion turbine operations, inspections, and maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.
• Participate in safety briefings, tailgate sessions, reviews, and observations.
• Observe, operate, and initiate repairs to the combustion turbine and related equipment.
• Maintain accurate operating logs and perform preventive maintenance to sustain equipment availability and reliability.
• Document routine inspections and maintenance of the site, combustion turbines, and related equipment utilizing Maximo.
• Collect and retain data to support regulatory permit requirements and reporting.
• Calibrate and repair recording and indicating instrumentation.
• Weld safely to produce reliable repairs and construction.
• Maintain performance monitoring and control equipment; monitor gas and steam turbine performance.
• Keep testing records as assigned.
• Participate in warehouse activities, ordering supplies, and support inventory activities.
• Perform regular inspections, overhauls, and maintenance of all related plant equipment.
• Operate and repair water treatment systems, including handling chemicals.
• Support safety, reliability, productivity, and efficiency improvements through continuous improvement activities.
• Perform housekeeping functions in the plant and shop area.
• Work closely with contractors on troubleshooting, repairing and installing equipment.
• Support operation and maintenance activities at other generating facilities as needed.

Education Requirements

Associate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrument and Control technical college.

Experience

• 4 years’ experience in electrical, instrument and control trades or completed apprenticeship; or

• 2 years of combustion turbine maintenance and operation experience.

Must have up-to-date demonstrated electrical or instrument and control experience.

Preferred Experience

• Combination of electrical or instrument and control trades completed along with a completed apprenticeship.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Must possess the Residency Policy requirement: live within 60 minutes of the headquarters.
• Physical ability to perform job requirements, including manual handling and operating heavy equipment.

Pay Range
