Job description

Join to apply for the Project Surveyor - Portland role at David Evans and Associates, Inc.

DEA is seeking a Project Surveyor to join a dynamic team of professional surveyors in our Portland, OR office. The primary focus of this position will be to provide excellent service to our Oregon Region clients by managing and delivering high-quality survey projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities include supporting the development of scope, schedule, and budget, and leading field and office staff across various projects and clients. DEA utilizes cutting-edge technology, including GPS, terrestrial laser scanning, unmanned aerial systems, mobile mapping, and hydrographic mapping systems.

Additional Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  1. Develop tactical action plans for project-related tasks
  2. Maintain client relationships within current markets and regions
  3. Perform research and calculations across jurisdictions
  4. Oversee quality control
  5. Coordinate with other DEA units and clients
  6. Mentor and coach field and office staff to promote professional growth

Basic Qualifications:

  • Oregon license required (or ability to attain within 1 year); Washington or Idaho licenses are a plus.
  • Ability to manage projects independently, communicate effectively with clients, and mentor junior staff
  • Knowledge of CAD and land surveying software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
