VIKA Maryland, LLC is hiring a Project Surveyor / Assistant Project Manager in our Tysons, VA office. The role supports Senior Project Surveyors and grows toward greater project ownership in land development projects.

The position requires SIT certification (in progress), 4–6 years surveying experience, and proficiency with Civil 3D/AutoCAD. Expect collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and client-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• SIT certification attained or in process.
• 4–6 years of surveying experience.
• Experienced with Civil 3D AutoCAD.
• Proficient in boundary surveys, cut sheet preparation, and construction stakeout.
• Knowledge of cadastral surveys, plats, easement documents, and title reports.
• Familiarity with jurisdictional requirements across local, county, and state jurisdictions.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to take on more responsibility.
• Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including client-facing experience.
• Willingness to mentor entry-level staff while growing technically and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Survey Leadership: Lead survey operations while assisting Director(s), applying advanced knowledge of coordinate geometry computations and preparing surveying documents for project phases.
• Advanced Technical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced experience in cut sheet preparation, construction stakeout, and all aspects of cadastral surveys, plats, and easement documents with jurisdictional conformance and ALTA surveys.
• Project Coordination: Lead coordination with clients, agencies, and VIKA multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining proficiency in boundary, ALTA, and topographic surveys.
• Professional Excellence: Attend client meetings, serve as training resource for staff, participate in industry events, and maintain knowledge of regulatory standards.
• Professional Growth: Participate in development activities, assist in proposals, support project billing, and contribute to business development with jurisdictional experience.

Project Surveyor / Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking a Project Surveyor / Assistant Project Manager who is eager to grow into greater project ownership while supporting Senior Project Surveyors in delivering land development projects. The successful candidate will apply intermediate technical knowledge across boundary, ALTA, and cadastral surveys, coordinate with project teams, agencies, and clients, and build jurisdictional expertise across one or two localities. This is a strong-fit role for someone who wants to sharpen both their technical survey skills and their project coordination experience while working toward greater leadership responsibility.

This is an in-office position based at our Tysons, Virginia office.

What We Hope You Will Bring

• Surveyor-In-Training (SIT) certification attained or in process
• 4–6 years of surveying experience
• Experienced with Civil 3D AutoCAD

The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 – $80,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, in accordance with applicable law.
