Job description

CEI Engineering Associates is seeking to hire a full-time Project Surveyor to strengthen our team. This position is remote in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Missouri.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of surveys and field operations. Key responsibilities include independent judgment, effective communication, supervisory skills, and familiarity with daily operational functions in a field and/or office survey environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain knowledge of client contacts, public and government agency interactions, field crew management, scheduling, and equipment and supplies management.
2. Perform budgeting and cost control.
3. Train personnel in survey practices for both field and office settings.
4. Supervise field work, including staking and stake marking for various survey types.
5. Stay informed about local and state land use regulations affecting site development.
6. Manage and coordinate projects for CEI clients, including permitting, budgeting, and client relations, either personally or through managers.
7. Verify data accuracy, perform complex survey computations, and ensure quality in work products.
8. Draft legal descriptions of property boundaries for deeds, leases, and legal documents, and interpret design plans for construction staking.
9. Communicate with the Survey Party Chief about scheduling and project scope, providing guidance to field crews.
10. Promote teamwork and decision-making that benefits the company, clients, and employees.
11. Analyze departmental budgets, review financial data, and develop financial solutions.
12. Oversee multi-project budgets and financial management.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge in fields such as accounting, marketing, business administration, or finance. A four-year college degree is preferred, along with 3 years of relevant experience and 19-23 months of management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
