Job summary

Kistler & Knapp Builders, Inc. is seeking a Project Supervisor to lead daily on residential construction sites across Greater Boston and MetroWest.

You will coordinate crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment, maintain high standards for safety and quality, and collaborate with the Project Manager to keep projects moving on time and within budget. Responsibilities

• Participate in permitting activities as needed.
• Provide input into subcontractor selection and build relationships with subcontractors.

The Role

Project Supervisors are dedicated to their assigned project and work in close partnership with a Project Manager. Projects may be located throughout Greater Boston and MetroWest, with current and upcoming work in areas including Newton, Weston, Wellesley, Concord, Dover, and other surrounding communities.

Kistler & Knapp gives its Supervisors considerable latitude to run their projects while providing support when needed. Supervisors can be involved in permitting and work directly with subcontractor procurement, including having meaningful input into which subcontractors join their projects.

What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day execution of assigned residential construction projects.
• Coordinate people, subcontractors, resources, and activities required to move the project forward.
• Maintain high standards for construction quality and jobsite safety.
• Understand architectural drawings and use them to prepare conversations with clients and subcontractors.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager throughout the project.
• Participate in permitting activities as needed.
• Work closely with subcontractor procurement and provide input into subcontractor selection for your project.
• Build accountability and productive working relationships with subcontractors.
• Serve as a knowledgeable, professional representative of Kistler & Knapp with clients and project partners.

What We're Looking For

• Residential construction background.
• Project supervision or comparable residential field leadership experience.
• Strong overall knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building practices.
• Ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate project activities.
• Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with clients and project partners.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work full-time on an active project site.

Preferred Experience

• Approximately 5+ years in residential construction/project supervision, particularly in the Greater Boston market.
• Carpentry experience or another meaningful hands‑on construction background.
• Familiarity with Procore.
• Local Greater Boston/MetroWest experience is preferred.
