Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation, partnered with a large general contractor, seeks a Superintendent for its San Antonio headquarters to oversee commercial projects. You will manage field operations, safety, daily logs, inspections, and coordination of trades.

You will lead field oversight, schedule look-ahead work, coordinate deliveries, review plans, and mentor crews to achieve milestones with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of progressive field construction experience with direct supervisory responsibilities.
• Willing to travel statewide.
• Background in multi-story steel/concrete construction with elevators preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field oversight for multiple trade partners, ensuring coordination and schedule adherence.
• Supervise field labour and hold trade partners accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and cost issues.
• Build and update 2-4 week look-ahead schedules and coordinate subcontractors to meet milestones.
• Schedule and coordinate deliveries of materials and equipment to maintain progress.
• Develop site logistics plans, identify construct-ability issues and provide solutions.
• Partner with Project Managers to align field execution with cost forecasts and value engineering.
• Prepare and manage field documentation including daily logs, RFIs, NCRs, change orders, and delay claims.
• Review plans and shop drawings to identify quality issues; coordinate inspections and corrective actions.
• Build strong relationships with client representatives and address concerns proactively.
• Facilitate jobsite meetings and toolbox talks; foster safety and accountability.
• Mentor foremen, crews and field staff to strengthen team performance.
• Other assigned tasks.

Education

Completion of an Apprenticeship Program, Construction Management degree, or equivalent field experience
