Job summary

Harnden Construction Services LLC, based in Pennsylvania and Maryland, seeks a Project Superintendent for Ft. Meade, MD and surrounding areas.

The role requires supervising earthwork and underground utility projects with OSHA-safety compliance and competent person certifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on supervisory experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to coordinate crews and equipment across sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3 years related experience.
• Combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience operating heavy equipment, especially excavators and bulldozers; GPS experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Problem solving and priority setting skills.
• Composure and conflict resolution skills.
• Basic internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills.
• Ability to fit test and utilize PPE as needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant).

Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to OSHA and Harnden Safety policies.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to keep progress on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Prepares project specific safety-related and work planning documentation.
• Documents and submits daily project working conditions, working hours and productions.
• Coordinates project’s needs for manpower and equipment with General Superintendent.
• Order and schedule project materials for delivery to project site.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent. Applicant needs to be able to demonstrate prior supervision experience with earthwork and underground utility projects, with appropriate competent person certifications.

• Performs all work according to OSHA and Harnden Safety policies
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Prepares project specific safety-related and work planning documentation as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR 3 years of related experience and/or training
• A combination of education and experience may be considered
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean Driving record
• Experience operating heavy equipment, especially excavators, bulldozers, GPS experience preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Problem solving and priority setting skills
• Composure and conflict resolution skills
• Basic internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
